Athlete Spotlight
Ty
Let us introduce you to Ty, also known to us as super mom. Ty is a mom/step-mom of 6, a community activist and volunteer and has been a Coach Lesley athlete for over ten (10) years.
When Ty first came to Coach Lesley, she was a runner looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon - and that she did. Now, over ten years later, she has a plethora of athletic (and personal!) accomplishments.
Ty has trained for multiple marathons (including another Boston qualification), 1/2 marathons, road races, mountain climbs and triathlons. She completed her first Ironman in 2006 - Ironman Canada. Two years later she completed her second Ironman in Coeur d'Alene, beating her time by over two hours.
Ty is a role model for every athlete - she is consistent and willing to work hard. She is always looking to improve and yet she exemplifies balance in that she always listens to her body and strives to keep her life in balance.
While we may kid her now and then for not wanting to wear a watch, we always look forward to her positive, focused approach to training. She loves the challenges of a new and different workout and we know she will try anything.
Most recently Ty has been focusing on her swim and her run and the hard work is paying off.
In 2010 Ty is looking forward to her first ultra distance run, several local triathlons and a few longer open water swims.
Way to go Ty! We look forward to all the adventures ahead!
